The official Christmas countdown has begun as An Post announced the final delivery dates for mail, parcels and packages to our loved ones.

As always, An Post encourages customers to submit their messages as early as possible as this time of year can get very busy very quickly.

Below are all the dates you need to be aware of to ensure your mail reaches its destination before Christmas.

Standard mail:

* Northern Ireland – December 19.

* UK – December 18.

* Rest of Europe – December 17.

* USA – December 10.

*Rest of the world – December 5th.
