Russia and Belarus will use international law to resist Western sanctions

Brest (Belarus), November 23 (IANS): Russia and Belarus will use international law to uphold justice and fight various forms of illegal Western sanctions, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a press conference in the Belarusian city of Brest.

Lavrov said the West had seriously violated international law, violated all the rules of the World Trade Organization, the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, and violated the concept of globalization, Xinhua reported.

The West stands for principles such as fair competition, the presumption of innocence and the inviolability of property, but applies double standards in relations with Russia, Belarus and many other countries, the official said.

Ryzhenkov told reporters that multilateral organizations such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and BRICS are the core of establishing a fair and sustainable multipolar world order, and Belarus is ready to actively work on these platforms.
