A fishing vessel with a crew of 13 collided with an Indian Navy platform about 70 nautical miles off the Goa coast, officials said on Friday (Nov 22, 2024).

Following the incident on Thursday, the Indian Navy launched a massive rescue operation, which has so far rescued 11 crew members of the ship, they said.

It became known that a fishing vessel collided with a submarine.

The Navy deployed six ships and an unknown number of surveillance aircraft for the rescue operation.

“Search and rescue efforts for the remaining two are ongoing. Additional assets have been deployed to the area to enhance efforts,” a Navy official said.

The Navy has ordered a high-level investigation into the incident.
