Ambassador Homes receives final approval for heritage conservation in Bangur

Ambassador Homes has secured unanimous approval from West Lothian Council for its final plans to redevelop a listed building as part of the Bangur Village estate.

The redevelopment will combine the former hospital buildings and church into a new vibrant community of 976 energy efficient homes set on 215 acres of mature woodland and will benefit from an energy efficient district heating system.

Bangour Village Estate will offer a variety of housing options, including detached and semi-detached houses, townhouses, and 20% of the site will be dedicated to affordable housing.

Over the expected project timeline, Ambassador Group plans to invest £150 million in community benefits and infrastructure, including a new primary school which will incorporate elements of the original Grade A listed recreation hall.

Gordon Coster, managing director of development at Ambassador Group, said: “The unanimous approval from West Lothian Council marks a key milestone for Ambassador Group in bringing this historic and much-loved village back to life.

“We have already begun specialist work to conserve and integrate the historic buildings into the new development, with initial infrastructure and groundworks underway and a number of homes at the Crescent already available for sale.

“Ambassador Group is honored to lead this landmark redevelopment and we remain committed to working closely with the local community and stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition to a thriving area for residents, locals and visitors. With its rich history and our focus on sustainability and providing an exceptional standard of living, Bangour Village Estate will be a unique and much-loved village for generations to come.”
