Jonathan Majors and ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari settle assault and defamation cases

Jonathan Majors’ ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari has agreed to dismiss a lawsuit alleging the actor assaulted and defamed her.

IN Civil lawsuit filed in New York in MarchJabbari accused her former partner of “pervasive domestic violence that began in 2021 and continued until 2023.” In court papers filed in New York on Thursday, their lawyers jointly agreed to dismiss the claims against Majors with prejudice, meaning the suits cannot be filed again.

In a statement to NPR, Jabbari’s lawyer Brad Edwards wrote: “We are pleased to announce that Grace Jabbari’s meritorious lawsuit filed against Jonathan Majors has been successfully settled. It took great courage for Grace to continue this endeavor. We’re glad we helped her end this chapter on a positive note so she can move forward and finally begin to heal.”

NPR has reached out to Majors’ lawyers for comment on the firing.

IN separate domestic violence case in 2023, Majors was found guilty of charges of assault and stalking. Prosecutors alleged that Majors attacked Jabbari, his then-girlfriend, in the back seat of a car in Manhattan on March 25 of that year. Later that night, he returned to their hotel and called 911 to report that he found Jabbari “unconscious” but was arrested when police found her with a broken finger and bruises and cuts on her body. Earlier this year he was sentenced to probation and enrolled in a domestic violence prevention program.

Jabbari’s civil lawsuit was filed shortly before Majors was sentenced in the criminal cases this spring. She alleged that in addition to the assault and battery, Majors also defamed her by “tarnishing” her name after his arrest and conviction. At that timeMajors’ lawyer said they will be preparing counterclaims.

Majors was a rising star in Hollywood, playing Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel film. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and starring opposite Michael B. Jordan in Creed III. He was set to play Kang in future films, but Marvel and Disney dropped the actor after his conviction. He and actress Meagan Good announced their engagement at an event on November 17.
