Kraken hit hard by Jordan Eberle news

Kraken forward Jordan Eberle missed last week’s game with a lower-body injury. However, this will cause him to be out of the squad for a significant period of time as the team announced that he underwent successful pelvic surgery on Friday. The recovery period after the procedure is at least three months.

Last month, the 34-year-old was named the co-captain in franchise history. Eberle is in his fourth season with the Kraken after being selected by them in the 2021 expansion draft and has been a valuable secondary scorer for them ever since. With them, he scored at least 17 goals and 44 points in each of his first three campaigns, and his 63 points in 2022-23 were the third-best of his career.

Eberle got off to a strong start this season with six goals and five assists in his first 17 games before suffering an injury that limited him to 29 goals and 53 points in 82 games, a mark he clearly won. I won’t get there now. A three-month (minimum) recovery period will likely keep Eberle out of the Four Nations Cup in February, or at least the next 37 games. This is a major blow for a Seattle team that sits near the middle of the pack offensively.

Eberle will likely be transferred to LTIR in the near future. For now, the Kraken have a fair amount of flexibility regarding the player cap because they already have guard Vince Dunn, so placing Eberle won’t happen right away. When will Dunn be able to return – and will he be with the team on their upcoming journey, according to the team’s producer Scott Malone — this will be the moment when Eberle should land there. However, this would largely eliminate any hope of creating a banking space at this time.
