Hello friends! I’m Kelsey, your pop culture guide at Yahoo Entertainment, and this is This is the listour weekly roundup of what’s new and noteworthy. In it, I recommended a variety of upcoming releases to watch, stream, listen to, read, and watch. I’ll introduce you to my favorites.

Wicked destroys the house

  • When: Wicked in theaters November 22.

  • What you need to know: It feels like everything happened pink and green in the months preceding Wicked, adaptation of the beloved Broadway prequel The Wizard of Oz told from the point of view of two witches, Elphaba and Glinda. (Yahoo Entertainment/NBC News)

  • Why I will watch: I’m fascinated by the friendship between leading actresses of the film! There was no rest for Wicked press tourand I truly cannot wait to enjoy the energy of this theater child in front of the biggest screen. (Yahoo Entertainment/Today)


Gladiator II here to have fun

  • When: Gladiator II in theaters November 22.

  • What you need to know: Paul Mescal stars as an enslaved man who becomes a gladiator under the watch of his ambitious boss (Denzel Washington) and seeks revenge on the general (Pedro Pascal) responsible for the death of his wife. (USA Today)

  • Why I will watch: I’ll sit through impressive sets and action scenes, but I know Washington. amazingly superb performance steals the show. (Hollywood Reporter)

Merry gentlemen creates Christmas magic

  • When: Merry gentlemen streaming now on Netflix.

  • What you need to know: It’s the classic: “We’ve got to put on a show to save Christmas!” film starring a city girl (Britt Robertson) who returns to her hometown to stage a “guy revue” and save her parents’ nightclub, with the help of completely ruined carpenter with a heart of gold (Chad Michael Murray). (People)

  • Why I recommend this: If you’ve ever watched Magic Mike and thought, “I wish this movie was shorter, more festive, and holiday themed,” it’s 90 minutes pure escapism what you really need. (Wrapper)

Cher believes in life after love

  • When: Cher: Memoirs, Part One out now.

  • What you need to know: It took Cher seven years to write her memoirs, and she’s still only half way done. She’s in it sheds light about her high-profile romances and reclaims her narrative as only Cher could. (Yahoo Entertainment)

  • Why I will read: Cher’s humor and philosophy have always inspired me, and I look forward to reading more of her stories. real lifePretty Woman moment for origin from her greatest hits. (People/USA Today)

Keke Palmer speaks for itself

  • When: Master Me: The Secret to Controlling Your Narrative Keke Palmer is now available on Audible.

  • What you need to know: Palmer has come a long way and been through a lot, but she doesn’t want anyone to think she’s anything other than dreamer and hard worker. former child star confidently and cheerfully tells the story of his life. (LA Times/Entertainment Weekly)

  • Why I will listen: There’s a reason Palmer is huge podcast And Friendly Comedy Rated R at work – she is simply a delight. If you’re not already a fan, prepare to be converted. (Variety/Rolling Stone)
