Shoojit Sircar’s BIG statement on Abhishek Bachchan amid Aishwarya Rai divorce rumors

Shoojit Sircar then praised Abhishek Bachchan for his dedication and also shared that his eyes are similar to his mother Jaya Bachchan’s, a fact he discovered after the film released. “Abhishek talks a lot. And when he is silent, his eyes speak like Jaya Di’s eyes.”

Shoojit Sircar’s first collaboration with Abhishek Bachchan, I Want to Talk, hit the silver screen today. Amid Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai’s divorce rumors and reports of his alleged affair with Nimrat Kaur, the film is being talked about more, especially the vulnerability it shows. What many people don’t know is that Shoojit Sircar’s first choice for I Want to Talk was not Abhishek Bachchan, but Irrfan Khan. However, after his tragic death, the role went to Abhishek Bachchan, who, if reports are to be believed, nailed it.

In an exclusive conversation with News18 Showsha, Shoojit Sircar revealed that he shared with Abhishek Bachchan that Irrfan was his first choice for the film. “I actually told Abhishek that you are actually playing the character that Irrfan was supposed to play. He didn’t take it as pressure. He told me that he would give his all and he did,” Shoojit said.

Shoojit Sircar then praised Abhishek Bachchan for his dedication and also shared that his eyes are similar to his mother Jaya Bachchan’s, a fact he discovered after the film released. “Abhishek talks a lot. And when he is silent, his eyes speak like Jaya Di, and you will understand this if you see her in Dhani Meiya, Guddi and Koshish with Sanjeev Kumar. There is a lot of beauty and warmth in it. I was a Jaya Dee fan. When we started shooting and I looked at the camera, I thought Abhishek had a lot of her in him. It’s the same when you walk. Go back and watch Jay Di’s films and you will find Abhishek,” he said.

For the uninitiated, I Want to Talk is the true story of one of Shoojit’s friends, Arjun Sen, who battled multi-organ cancer and came out the other side victorious.
