Ortlieb expands its repair network with new service dealers in the UK

Ortlieb is advancing its commitment to sustainability by expanding its national and international renovation network.

As part of this commitment, Ortlieb has trained eight new service dealers across the UK, reinforcing its “repair first” philosophy to extend product life cycles and reduce environmental impact.

With the addition of these service dealers to the UK, Ortlieb’s expansion aims to support environmentally conscious consumers by offering affordable, high-quality repair options for its products.

The new service dealers are an important component of Ortlieb’s global repair network, providing localized repair services for Ortlieb cycling and outdoor equipment.

By minimizing the need for product replacement, the brand encourages sustainable consumption while delivering functionality and performance for outdoor enthusiasts.

Ortlieb CEO Martin Esslinger explains: “We repair around 18,000 products a year at our site in Heilsbronn, where all our products are manufactured.

“Being able to offer on-site repairs not only eliminates unnecessary delivery routes, but also results in reduced wait times for customers and increased in-store traffic.”

As Esslinger explains, sustainable management has always been part of Ortlieb’s DNA and is also his aspiration.

He continues: “Responsibly using the natural resources we have means, above all, that products must be as durable as possible.

“Because by far the most important aspect of a product’s sustainability is its longevity. In our efforts to extend the life of our products, repairability has always played a central role, along with our manufacturing process and the materials used.

“Expanding our repair network allows us to further educate retailers and consumers about the benefits of products that are the most repairable, while making them a regional and first-hand experience.”

Newly trained service dealers have advanced skills and certified experience, allowing them to perform a wide range of repairs, from replacing zippers to re-welding the structural integrity of Ortlieb products.

The initiative also aims to further expand repair capabilities in international markets, reflecting a strategic commitment to sustainable and affordable maintenance of outdoor equipment worldwide.
