Friday rainy, chance of showers

RICHMOND, Virginia. The storm system in our north will move south today, maintaining wind gusts in excess of 25 mph. Highs will be in the low 40s with wind chills in the 30s to low 40s. There will be some light showers later in the evening and evening. Rain chances will be higher north of I-64 where wet flakes may be present.

For those traveling, the West Virginia mountains are expected to see significant snowfall over the next 36 hours, with one to two feet possible at the highest elevations. Virginia Stick may collect very light clumps once the ground cools enough.

It won’t be as cold tonight, in the 30s to 40s.

Saturday will be windy with partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the 50s to 60s. Sunday will be mostly sunny with temperatures in the low 60s.

Monday will be mostly sunny with temperatures in the low to mid 60s.

The cold front will continue into Tuesday morning with a slight chance of rain.

Wednesday will be cooler with more clouds. Highs will be in the 50s.

For now, it looks like the storm system will bring light rain to the area Wednesday through Thursday, with showers possibly lasting into the early part of Friday.
