HYDE (INSIDE) at Chiba’s Makuhari Messe: concert report

October 26 and 27 HYDE completed HYDE (INSIDE) LIVE 2024 -EXTRA- at the Makuhari Messe restaurant in Chiba.

These shows were a continuation GUIDE (INSIDE) LIVE 2024music club tour he started at Tokyo’s Zepp Haneda (TOKYO) on June 22. As the name suggests, this tour was in support of HYDE (INSIDE)his first new album in five years. In 2024, HYDE also performed at numerous festivals around the world. Japansuch as ROCK FESTIVAL OGA NAMAHAGE And DEAD POP FESTIVAL. Although he is a respected figure and is always at the forefront of the rock world, he also has many rivals. His ever-evolving live performances have captured the hearts of a wide variety of fans.

The performance began with the counting of votes. At 5:06 p.m. (or 4:66 p.m.), the sound of the show’s opening music filled the club before the band began with “LET IT OUT.” HYDE also performed this song as the opening song at many of the shows on last year’s tour. LIVE GUIDE 2023but this year the band’s stage presence took it up a notch. HYDE stood on a high platform, looking down at the audience. He wore a military cap decorated with Swarovski crystals, and his piercing gaze gave a foreboding of the excitement to come. In the next song, “AFTER LIGHT”, the volume of the crowd singing along to the chorus almost rivaled HYDE’s volume. The crowd was clearly warming up already. The group then performed “I GOT 666”, which was first premiered during HYDE’s previous tour and then released about a year later. HYDE (INSIDE). When the song reached the chorus of “I know!” the crowd began to shake their heads. The crowd reached its climax.

HYDE then addressed the audience for the first time: “Welcome to HYDE (INSIDE)! Let’s enjoy reality! From the very beginning, the show captivated the crowd with powerful songs like “BLEEDING,” which featured HYDE looking straight into the camera lens with a variety of expressions flashing across his face, and “ON MY OWN,” which saw him sing while holding his head above his head. a flag that fluttered in the wind. He then smoothly switched gears and the mournful keyboard arpeggio flowed naturally into “THE ABYSS.” HYDE also performed a solo arrangement of “TOKOSHIE”, a song he wrote with MY FIRST STORY, as the ending theme song for Hashira’s training arc in the television anime. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. The constantly changing drums suited HYDE’s storytelling style of singing perfectly. They combined their talents to bring the song to life and share its vision. It was a moment that made you acutely aware of HYDE’s expressive range.

Towards the middle of the performance, HYDE addressed the audience again, saying, “I have given many concerts here in Makuhari. I want today to be the most chaotic day ever!” In “6or9,” he asked the audience to sit down, shouting, “Sit down! We’re all going to come together.” He looked intently at the audience, searching for the right moment, and then the orchestra began to play, and the audience jumped into the air as one. During the next song, “MAD QUALIA”, HYDE jumped into the crowd, one man facing 10,000 people. Rows of lights hung from the four corners of the stage like a circus tent, and opposite the back curtain was an electric sign with the word “HYDE” brightly emblazoned on it. It was as if HYDE was the ringmaster of the circus and had tamed the audience before him. Or, to put it another way, the audience was watching the spectacle of a monster (HYDE) in a circus arena. HYDE showed the audience the pinnacle of entertainment, and he himself was delighted too, telling the audience: “You are rocking today! I feel the heat coming from you!

Deeply impregnated with metal “SOCIAL VIRUS”, core HYDE (INSIDE)featured one of the show’s highlights. As the bass came in during the long, heavy bridge, HYDE split the audience down the middle, dividing them into left and right sides. Then, as he sang “I’ve got to find a way to see the light of day,” the crowd closed in on the wall of death again, coupled with HYDE’s guttural growls and the band’s disintegration to create a chaotic spectacle. The last song of the set was the ballad “LAST SONG”. HYDE, his face covered in blood, sang amidst a blizzard of red confetti, baring his heart and revealing the emotions deep inside.

The curtain fell, but after a while the guitarist came on stage and played a guitar solo. Then a moving drum set appeared in the crowd on a stage erected in the middle of the dance floor. The audience shouted “HYDE-!” and HYDE jumped out of a giant Pandora’s Box to perform “PANDORA.” The joy was evident on his face as he shouted, “We really all came together!” He continued: “You need to live your life the way you want to. I don’t want to worry about what others think, I want to do what I want. If you want to join me, be my guest!” The audience burst into applause. “This world is just full of pain, isn’t it! I just want to wrap myself in an aura of joy!” – he continued, and then invited an unexpected guest: Hiro (vocalist of MY FIRST STORY), who had announced his marriage a few days earlier. HYDE asked Hiro to get the crowd going, and Hiro addressed the crowd saying, “You guys are smart, so I’m sure you already figured it out. If I’m here on stage, that must mean…” and with that, the band began playing “MUGEN”, the opening theme for the training arc of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira”. HYDE gave an amazing performance, not only in the way he and Hiro played off each other and harmonized, but also in the screaming part of the song when he grabbed and held Hiro by the lapels.

“Thank you for your love for this crazy art!”

HYDE picked up the pace with “BELIEVING IN MYSELF” and “GLAMOROUS SKY” as the show drew to a close. He told the crowd how many songs were left and the crowd went wild, focusing on each song. That excitement was heightened by the final song, “SEX BLOOD ROCK N’ ROLL.” “Show me what you’ve got!” – HYDE shouted in a hoarse voice, joined by the shouts of the crowd. “We broke everything! Don’t forget about it! And we will do it again! Just wait and see!” – he shouted, smashing the drum kit, and then walked off stage.

The message that ran throughout the show was important in the moment. It seems obvious that this is related V (INSIDE)a reference to what lies in the heart of HYDE, but I will leave further interpretation to the readers. HYDE is currently on a world tour, so who knows what else he might have in store before the end of the year.
