Four people with guns and drug charges after wild car chase: Loon Lake RCMP

Four people appeared in Loon Lake provincial court Friday facing multiple weapons and drug charges.

According to police, Loon Lake RCMP received reports of two stolen vehicles heading north on Highway 26 on November 19th.

The occupants of the vehicle were carrying firearms and pointed them at the man, the report said.

After patrolling the area, RCMP located one of the vehicles that matched the descriptions at Ministiquan Cree Nation Lake. When police initiated a traffic stop, the vehicle turned toward police and drove toward Pierceland.

During the chase, the suspects threw gas cans, stereos, a rug, bags and other items out of the car windows, although no police vehicles were damaged.

A tire deflation device was installed to try to stop the vehicle, which the vehicle ran over near the Beaver River Bridge, and although one of the tires came off, the vehicle continued driving and exited onto Highway 55.

After further attempts to stop the car, it drove into a field, crashed into a fence and came to a stop before the four suspects fled on foot. Soon after this they were arrested.

During the investigation, officers located and seized approximately 195 grams of crystal methamphetamine, ammunition, brass knuckles, an ax and drug paraphernalia from the vehicle and from the suspects.

It also emerged that earlier in the day the group entered a house on Makwa Sahgaihkan First Nation and assaulted two men, including pointing a firearm at one of them.

Courtlin Littlewolf, 38, of Onion Lake, was charged with one count, stalking – fleeing a peace officer, one count, operating while prohibited, one count, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, one count, mischief under $5,000. one count, resist/obstruct a peace officer, one count, possession of a firearm when prohibited.

Also from Onion Lake, Warren Littlewolf was charged with two counts of resisting/obstructing a peace officer, three counts of possession of a firearm while prohibited and two counts of failure to comply with conditions of a release order.

Kyle Susay, 34, also of Onion Lake, was charged with one count of resisting/obstructing a peace officer, two counts of possession of a firearm while prohibited and two counts of failure to comply with conditions of a release order.

Finally, 21-year-old Tailena Takakenu of Thunderchild First Nation was charged with one count of resisting/obstructing a peace officer, one count of extortion without a firearm.

Each was additionally charged with: one count of possession for the purpose of selling methamphetamine, one count of illegal presence in a residential building, one count of robbery with the use of a firearm, Art. 344 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, one count – possession of property obtained by crime in the amount of more than $5,000 and, one count, possession of weapons for dangerous purposes.

Loon Lake RCMP are continuing to investigate.
