A court has ordered the seizure of equipment at a Dubai medical facility to pay off creditors and unpaid staff, including doctors and nurses.

The arrest, ordered by a Dubai court, followed a site inspection carried out in March this year by a court-appointed executor, who cataloged all the medical equipment and furniture in the clinic.

Items seized include advanced diagnostic instruments such as X-ray machines, automated analyzers and bronchoscopy equipment, worth millions of dirhams. Even basic items such as patient beds, infusion pumps and blood pressure monitors were confiscated. Among the most valuable assets was a cardiac catheterization system worth Dh1.7 million.

The court’s enforcement action came after the hospital failed to repay significant debts owed to creditors and unpaid staff. Since the institution was unable to fulfill its obligations, the court authorized the confiscation of property to collect debts.

The decision sparked controversy among hospital employees, many of whom went without pay for months. “The hospital has let us down for too long,” the former doctor said. “Justice has finally been served.” The nurse added: “I found it difficult to pay rent and bills. It’s bittersweet—it’s the end of the job, but it’s also a chance to get compensation.”
