Almost 28 years later The Gruesome Murder of JonBenet RamseyThe young beauty queen’s father is speaking out – and said the murder could be solved if the Boulder Police Department works with other agencies to solve the case.

“There were terrible failures,” 80-year-old John Ramsey. told “Today” on Thursday. “But I believe this problem can be solved if the police accept outside help. This is their disadvantage.”

“In my opinion, the police department has had very poor leadership for many years; they wanted us to stay away from them,” he added.

“The person who investigated our case was a car theft investigator before our case. I never criticized them for lack of experience “I criticized them for refusing help from the people who did it.” And this was proposed.”

Little JonBenet’s murder has baffled authorities since the early morning of December 26, 1996, when the six-year-old beauty queen was reported missing from her home. expansive home in Boulder, Colorado.

A few hours later, John Ramsey found the little girl’s body in the basement of the house. She had a garrote around her neck and her skull was fractured from an apparent blow to the back of her head.

Police initially focused on JonBenet’s family: Father John; mother Patsy; and brother Burke. But 15 days after the murder, a DNA report appeared to rule them out as suspects. They were officially cleared in 2008 by the then-District Attorney.

In the 28 years since, no one has been brought to justice for JonBenét’s murder.

Last December, the city of Boulder issued a press release which stated that the murder was being investigated by a multi-agency task force and that they hoped new technology would lead to a resolution to the conflict.

“The Boulder Police Department (BPD) recently convened a panel of outside experts (the Colorado Cold Case Investigation Team) to review the investigation into the murder of JonBenét Ramsey,” the statement said.

“The purpose of the review was to make additional recommendations for the investigation and to determine whether updated technology and/or forensic testing could provide new information or leads to solve the case.”

The team included the FBI, Colorado Bureau of Investigation, Boulder Police Department, Boulder County District Attorney’s Office, Colorado Department of Public Safety and Colorado Bureau of Investigation.

But after a promising press release, the case remains sadly unsolved, and Ramsey’s family says Boulder cops need to do more.

“They will have to accept the help that is offered to them,” lamented John Ramsey. “A new police chief came from outside. I hope he will accept help so this problem can be solved.”
