After the twist in the career-ending fall finale of Law & Order , I’m more attached to Maura Tierney’s Jessica Brady than I thought I would be.

Law and order may not be known for its cliffhangers as a long-running procedural, but the fall season 24 finale ensured there were some big unanswered questions ahead as TV schedule for 2024 wraps. In “Bad Apple” Jessica Brady returned to working with his old drug squad when one policeman was shot in the back. What at first seemed like a fairly simple joining of forces turned sideways when it became clear that the other cop was dirty and his superiors had a history of covering for him… including Brady.

In the end, she made the call that ended the careers of the killer and his boss, and possibly her own: an IAB detective visited her office. And damn, I didn’t realize until now how invested I was in keeping Brady!

What happened in the fall finale of Law & Order?

Det. Miles Brandt was on trial for the murder of his partner, Det. Harrisonbesides his history of corruption, but none of this corruption was officially recorded because cops like Brady and their boss Captain Stockwell he simply turned away, even when Harrison complained. When Brandt threw Harrison under the bus to try to at least avoid a murder charge, Brady knew someone would have to testify about Brandt’s true nature.

So Brady decided to throw himself on the sword. She took stand and told the truth, although she avoided blaming Stockwell as much as possible without perjury. My understanding of Brady

Certainly, Mehcad Brooks praised how Tierney fits joined the cast before Season 24 premiered, but I just wasn’t sure how well Brady would work with the rest of the group. I was on board for the first few episodes of this season… and then the fall finale came out with the possibility of Brady sacrificing her career to get justice for a murdered cop, and I realized how much Maura Tierney added to the series. this season.

Luckily, Brady appears in the promo for the second half of Season 24, and it doesn’t look like she’s been demoted. Take a look:

Law and order returns to NBC in the New Year on Thursday, January 16th at 8:00 pm ET ahead of new episodes of the series. Law & Order: SVU at 9 pm ET as usual. It is still unknown if Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 5 all episodes will be ready in early 2025; anyway, this spin-off will air on Peacock and not NBC with L&O And SVU.
