Snowblower naming contest held in Fargo – InForum

FARGO — The city of Fargo will host a “Name the Snow Plow” contest this winter.

Residents 13 and older have until Thursday, Dec. 5 to submit their ideas, according to the city. Each person is allowed to enter three different snowplow names.

The winning entries will be displayed on city snowplows.

All entries must comply with the following rules:

  • Briefly 20 characters and no more than three words.
  • Do not violate copyright and trademark laws.
  • No swearing or profanity

Snowplow names with a North Dakota or Fargo theme will receive extra points, the release said. If more than one person submits the same application, the first one submitted will be considered.

The City will select the top 10 finalists, which will then be posted on City of Fargo social media for public voting to determine the winner.

Our news department occasionally publishes articles under the byline “staff.” Often the byline “staff” is used when rewriting basic news reports taken from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no coverage. Sometimes this caption is used when a news story has multiple authors or when a story is formed by combining previously published news from various sources. If external sources are used, this is noted in the article.
