Jonathan Majors and Grace Jabbari settle defamation and assault cases

Months after landing his first film role after a highly publicized trial and conviction for misdemeanor assault, Jonathan Majors settled a lawsuit brought by ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari, who alleged he subjected her to severe physical abuse.

Lawyers for both sides briefed the court on Thursday about the agreement to resolve the case. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed, although Brittany Henderson, Jabbari’s attorney, said the lawsuit was “settled favorably.”

A spokesman for the Majors did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

In March Jabbari sued Majors for battery, assault, malicious prosecution and defamation arising from the actor’s denial of abusing the professional dancer and movement coach before and after his sentencing. In the lawsuit filed in federal court in New York, she detailed several incidents of alleged physical abuse between 2021 and 2023.

This includes an incident in 2022 in which Majors allegedly “picked Grace into the air and slammed her against the hood of her car” before threatening to kill her. “Majors then began slamming Grace’s head against the marble floor and choking her until she felt she could no longer breathe,” the complaint states.

Majors was dissuaded from seeking medical help by Jabbari, who said in a text message: “They will ask you questions and since I don’t think you’re actually protecting us, it could lead to an investigation even if you’re lying and they They’ll suspect something. – the lawsuit says.

Reports of the alleged incident emerged as part of Majors’ criminal trial (although any alleged incident leading up to it was not discussed).

In June, Majors was cast as the lead in the supernatural revenge thriller. Ruthless from director Martin Villeneuve. The story, set during fall filming, centers on a CIA interrogator who is forced to defeat an evil force that has captured the woman he loves.
