Shaquille O’Neal Must See Agee Wilson’s Brilliant Response to WNBA Ring Demotion Idea

Back in October, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal confirmed his (controversial) version of why he believes in The WNBA should consider lowering the rings and allow players to dunk during it appearance on the show “Unforgivably Angel”hosted by Angel Reese.

“Pretty girl dipping a ball? I watch this all day,” Shaq told Reese, who laughed out loud.

Shaq added, “It’s about seeing what you shouldn’t see…Why do you think people love Caitlin Clarke? Apart from her skills?

“She can shoot threes from the logo,” Reese responded.

“We’ve never seen this before. That’s my point,” Shaq said. “She does things we’ve never seen before. (I’ve) never seen anyone (shooting logo triplets) on a regular basis.

“So I’m telling you, if you just drop it like this,” Shaq said then of the WNBA rim drop, gesturing with his fingers about an inch apart.

Many fans feel it demeans female basketball players, as if they need to be able to dunk to generate interest.

And 2024 WNBA MVP Aja Wilson gave a brilliant and logical response to Shaq’s opinion when asked about potentially lowered wheels during a speech. appearance on “The Roommate Show” with New York Knicks stars Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart

“What is he going to do?” Wilson said when Brunson said he wanted lowered rims for the WNBA.

“I’d rather just set up my offseason to be like, ‘OK, max vertical jump, let’s focus on jumping,'” Wilson continued.

“How about lowering it an inch? This could change all our shots. Don’t you understand this?

Any player will understand that the slightest change in the condition of the ball, the hoop, or a variety of other factors can have a detrimental effect on the effectiveness of the shot. So a lowered rim—even if it’s just an inch—will likely create the shooting problems Wilson is alluding to.

Quite a valid argument from the Aces superstar.
