Former Mississippi probation officer pleads guilty to seven counts of embezzlement

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – A former probation officer has pleaded guilty to seven counts of embezzlement.

Lacoste Lee was accused of accepting court-ordered fines and fees from probationers and using them for personal gain.

She worked as a contract probation officer for Court Programs, Inc.

On Thursday, Lee was sentenced to 20 years in prison, 17 years of probation, three years served and five years of post-release supervision, and ordered to pay $4,313.75 in restitution, $3,000 in fines and $400 in a restitution fund. victims.
