Black Myth: Wukong ‘surprises’ coming later this year, director says

Black Myth: Wukong “Some surprises” are expected later this year, said game director Feng Ji, suggesting that DLC is indeed on the way.

The game won the Game of the Year award as voted by fans last night. Golden joysticksand Gee made the comment during his acceptance speech.

“Of course, you may have already beaten our game,” he said. “This is also wonderful. Keep following us for some surprises later this year.”

So what could these surprises be?

At least Xbox players are still waiting to get their hands on the game. Its release on the Microsoft platform was postponed as more time was needed for optimizationalthough there were rumors around PlayStation Exclusive Offer.

At least, Microsoft has confirmed that the delay is not due to “platform limitations.”. The release date has still not been announced, three months have passed since the launch, but it could still come before the end of the year.

What’s more interesting is that Gee’s comment suggests that DLC is on the way. Back at launch, the game’s website’s FAQ noted that DLC and “non-paid in-game purchases” might be released in the future.

After graduation, Bloomberg reported that Game Science is working on an expansion for the game, following in the footsteps of FromSoftware with its Elden Ring Add-on.

There have also been numerous rumors that the DLC will release in early 2025, which will coincide with Chinese New Year. So perhaps G’s surprise is simply a release date announcement this side of Christmas. Looking at you, The Game Awards!
