Alexander Benga: Experts join search for missing teenager Lewis | UK News

Police search officers from Aberdeen and Inverness have traveled to the Isle of Lewis to help find a missing teenager who has not been seen for four days.

Alexander Benga, 16, was last seen near a water wheel in the grounds of Lews Castle, west of Stornoway, at about 8.45am on Monday.

Police Scotland “very concerned” for the teenager’s welfare and is urging residents to check all outbuildings and sheds in case he tries to take shelter from the cold.

In addition to specialist mainland officers, the force said partner agencies were also providing support.

Inspector David Hall said: “We continue to appeal to the public for help in locating Alexander, who has been missing for over 96 hours.

“We have reviewed CCTV footage and footage provided by members of the public and now have a better idea of ​​Alexander’s whereabouts before he was seen at the water wheel, however we still don’t know where he went next.”

Alexander is described as being about 6ft 2ins tall, slim, with short brown hair.

When last seen, he was wearing a beige sweater and black jeans. He may also have a red jacket and a yellow hat.

Inspector Hall is urging anyone with relevant CCTV, dash cam or doorbell footage to pass it on to officers.

He added: “We are very concerned for the welfare of this young man. Alexander, if you see this, please contact us and let us know you are safe.”
