Brave rescue: Four fishermen rescued after going missing at sea

Kannur: Coastal Police Four fishermen who went missing in Ayikkar were rescued on Friday. Those rescued were Mujeeb from Parappanangadi in Malappuram, Kuriakose, a native of Vadakara in Kozhikode, Rajneesh from Kannur and Shambu, a native of Odisha. They were rescued in the morning by police with the support of local fishermen five nautical miles off the coast of Azhikkala.
Those rescued were later hospitalized. Three of them were discharged after receiving primary treatment while Mujeeb, who suffered paralysis during the incident, is undergoing treatment at the Kannur Government District Hospital.
Their fishing boat, Safamol, set out to sea from Azhikkal on Sunday, and the same day other fishermen received wireless messages about their ordeal. Although coastal police searched for the stranded boat, they were unable to find it. However, with the support of local fishermen, they were saved.
