The remains and property of 43 members of the Chinese People’s Volunteer Army who died during the War of Resistance to US Aggression and Relief Korea (1950-53) will soon be returned to China from the Republic of Korea, China’s Ministry of Veterans Affairs said Friday.

The ministry said the handover will take place on November 28, which will be the 11th repatriation of the remains of CPV martyrs since 2014, when the two countries signed a handover agreement.

By the end of 2023, in accordance with international law and humanitarian principles, both sides completed 10 consecutive transfers of the remains of 938 CPV martyrs to the ROK, as well as related artifacts, the report said.

Both countries agreed to continue cooperation on repatriation efforts, he added.

During the war on the Korean Peninsula, approximately 200,000 KPV soldiers died.
