Jhansi (UP), Nov 21 (PTI) Twenty-one of the 39 children rescued after last week’s devastating fire at Maharani Laxmibai Medical College were discharged after treatment on Thursday, officials said.

The fire occurred in the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit on the night of November 15. 49 children were treated there. 39 children were rescued, but 10 children died from suffocation or burns.

Five more children died in the following days, and treatment for 10 children continues in hospital. According to medical college principal Narendra Singh Sengar, three children are undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
